Claire Kirkup Description

After moving to Melbourne in 2003 following different involvements with creative pursuits, started exhibiting in early 2005.

Finding inspiration from the combination of the normality’s of life and imaginative splendour, mostly self-taught, she was eventually drawn to start generating large-scale impressions of simplistic themes with quirky and emotional tones.

Kirkup’s style, synonymous with relaxation and harmony, exudes a slow desire that embodies unique minimalist composition. Using distinct line emphasis and strong colour she expresses timeless ideas with often familiar content. Claire has gone from strength to strength, winning awards and selling her artworks regularly, including commissions.
